House in the Forest

The house sits at the edge of a pine forest — in the children’s bedroom, a full-height window opens straight onto the tree trunks, lit from below by the evening sun. The clients asked for the view to stay the room’s main feature, with the furniture as a quiet backdrop.

The bed’s headboard is upholstered in warm mustard velvet with soft rolled bolsters, and beside it stands a lacquered terracotta nightstand. Further along the wall, a light-oak shelving unit on brass supports holds books and small objects without crowding the wall.

A fluted-front desk sits flush against the window — even here, the forest beyond the glass stays the foreground, not the furniture.
